The Town of Light originally released on PC in February 2016; however, indie developers LKA.it have just signed a deal with Wired Productions to bring an updated version of the game to both PS4 and Xbox One.
The First Person, psychological thriller is set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum – a real-life mental treatment facility in Tuscany, Italy. The story driven gameplay is based on extensive research and inspired by true facts; Immersing player into the cruel world of traditional mental health treatment offers an insightful, if not terrifying experience.
The Town of Light is played through the fictional eyes of Renée, a 16-year-old girl who suffers from the symptoms of mental illness. As Renée explores the psychiatric asylum of Volterra She’ll uncover secrets hidden within her past, secret that will unravel into a dark and emotional journey through the halls of where she spend most of her unpleasant youth.
As previously mentioned this console release will be an updated version of the game; with new puzzles, improved voiceover dialog and a huge graphical overhaul, delivering a more polished and immersive experience of this unique gaming experience. It’s important to note that the updated version will also be available to PC players.
The Town of Light doesn’t have a confirmed date for it’s console release yet, however, developers LKA.it have said it will release in Q2 of 2017. If your as excited as we are to play through this unique and eerie psychological story then be sure to check out the new trailer below.
