Dead Alliance is a zombie weaponising tactical FPS

Now even zombies will be your friends.

There’s something quite joyous when several indie developers team up to create an ambitious and AAA challenging game. That’s exactly what Psyop and IllFonic have done to create Dead Alliance, an inventive tactical FPS zombie game, yep you heard correctly, you’ll tactically be using zombies!

Today the developer, along with the publisher Maximum Games have announced the game will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on 29th August. The game will be available both physically and digitally for $39.99, no respective EU or UK price has been announced yet. Who knows, maybe they’ll even offer a collectors edition where you get a real-life zombie, or, at least a statue would be nice.

So, about those zombies. As previously mentioned, Dead Alliance is a competitive tactical FPS where players can choose to play alone in dedicated single player modes or experience the games full potential in 4v4 zombie weaponising warfare. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where military bases provide refuge as the last cities on Earth, you’ll be pitted against other human players in a true fight for survival, where not necessarily the fittest will win, instead the most intuitive.

Dead Alliance’s warfare takes huge inspiration from he genre defining Call of Duty; you’ll need to create various loadouts to take into battle. however, the unique element to this zombie game is the ability to control the zombies, embracing them a team members and letting them loose on your opponents. This is done via a piece of tech call a zMod, an example of a zMod is the PAM grenade, which puts four zombies to work for you, but does not increase their damage resistance. There are tons of zMods for you to unlock and include in your loadout, all of which bring a new mechanic to this tactical FPS.

As you’d expect with any competitive FPS there are several modes for you to play through, both single player and team based, including Team Deathmatch, Free for All, King of the Hill, and Capture and Hold, as well as the MOBA-inspired Attrition mode and Solo Survival mode.

Dead Alliance is set for release on 29th August; coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC. If this tactical, zombie wielding FPS has sparked some interest in you then be sure to check out the announcement trailer below.
